Induction Loop Systems, Testing & Accessibility
JPS Systems provides induction loop systems, testing, inspection and fault finding for public and commercial buildings across Durham and the North East.
We inspect, test and maintain existing hearing loop systems, provide independent advice on improvements, and can design and arrange new systems where required.
Induction Loop Testing & Inspection
An induction loop being switched on does not necessarily mean it is working correctly.
JPS Systems can inspect and test existing hearing loop systems, check coverage and signal performance, identify faults and provide practical recommendations where improvements are required.
Where appropriate, systems can be assessed using professional field-strength measurement equipment with reference to BS EN IEC 60118-4, the recognised standard for audio-frequency induction-loop systems.
Our aim is not simply to produce measurements. We explain what we find in straightforward language and recommend proportionate action where improvements are needed.
Is Your Existing Hearing Loop Actually Working?
Hearing loops can remain installed for many years without anyone knowing whether they still provide effective assistance to hearing-aid users.
Problems can include disconnected or unpowered equipment, incorrect settings, poor microphone positioning, inadequate coverage, interference, damaged loop wiring or simply staff being unsure how the system should be operated.
JPS Systems can investigate existing installations, identify problems and provide clear recommendations for repair, adjustment, replacement or improvement where necessary.

Where Assisted-Listening Systems Are Commonly Needed
- Reception desks and service counters
- Council and public buildings
- Leisure centres
- Police facilities
- Libraries and community buildings
- Meeting rooms and council chambers
- Places of worship
- Healthcare and public-service environments
Every building is different, so we prefer to understand how the space is actually used before recommending equipment.
Testing, Staff Guidance & Signage
A good assisted-listening system needs more than equipment.
We can help organisations understand how their systems work, provide straightforward guidance for staff and advise on appropriate signage so visitors know that assisted listening is available.
For organisations responsible for multiple buildings, JPS Systems can also help identify systems across an estate, assess their condition and highlight where further investigation or improvement should be considered.
Practical, Independent Advice
Sometimes an existing system can be repaired or adjusted. Sometimes an upgrade is justified. And sometimes no major work is necessary.
Our approach is to establish what is actually happening first and recommend a practical solution rather than automatically proposing replacement equipment.
